North Face of Soprano Peak # 6784

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.06.05
Vantage Point: From basin above Lorna Lake

Caption: North face of Soprano Peak under stormy skies in the Holly Lake Area of the eastern Cayoosh Range.

PhotoDescr: The Holly Lake area was mentioned in an article in the 1990 CAJ by Alan Greer. After spending some time sorting out the exact locations of the peaks mentioned, I finally nailed down the true identities. The area in both this basin and the one to the south offer incredible access in a matter of minutes to a wide open alpine basins dotted with tarns. Unfortunately someone has marred the approach with completely unnecessary flagging and spray paint/slash markings.

The buttresses on Soprano do not look that terrible in terms of rock quality, but there is an abundance of lichen about. Nearby Faulty Tower has two established short routes.
