PhotoDescr: The Alpine Forget-Me-Not (Myosotis alpestris) is found only at high elevations. In the El Nino summer of 1998, June found Wilcox Pass carpeted with wildflowers in profusion. Two weeks earlier, I had spent two days with my daughter at the Hilda Creek Hostel, but very low cloud and wet snow made going up the pass an uninviting proposition. Now, having taken her back to Edmonton, and returned to Jasper National Park for some solo hiking, the weather had turned to full glorious summer, and I had my chance. Alpine Forget-Me-Nots are my favourite mountain flower, not least because I can identify them with certainty, and I have never seen so many.
