David Wasserman #196
(Edmonton , Alberta, Canada)
Still a Hiker, Not a Climber DW on Summit of Mt. Allan, 2819 m, 5 Aug
2002 Highest Point Reachable by Trail in Canada
David Wasserman was born at the edge of the Porcupine Mountains of Manitoba, a low range of gravel and rock that may have been the shoreline of the ancient Lake Agassiz. Manitoba's second highest point, Hart Mountain, crowns the range at about 2700 feet. Moving to Calgary at the age of 15, David could see the Rockies from his living room window, and ever since has been an avid hiker in and photographer of the Canadian Rockies. More of his mountain photographs can be seen at Illustrated Hiking Trails of the Canadian Rockies, his personal website.

His photographs have appeared in MoneySense magazine, enRoute magazine, the Western Canada Wilderness Committee 2005 endangered wilderness calendar, the Edmonton Journal, the Calgary Herald, and the Prince Rupert Daily News, as well as several books, including Gillean Daffern's 2007 publication Popular Day Hikes 1: Kananaskis Country.

David is an active member of the Grant MacEwan Mountain Club.
