A somewhat challenging loop hike in Lynn Valley
When I noticed that Lynn Valley was not on the list of closed parking lots I decided to check it out. At 9.30 the overflow lots were less than 1/4 full, like mid weeks in normal times. But there were signs everywhere warning you to stay in your car until there is nobody within 2m. At the trailhead there was a life-size panther, its length the required social distancing. The start of the main Lynn valley - Cedars Mill Trail is a wide road for about 1.5km. Distancing is no problem until it narrows. Then it becomes a bit more difficult, particularly when meeting joggers. They tend to run right past you without giving you an inch over to their side. They also never stop and wait at a wider spot. I am afraid they are more dangerous because if they breath heavier they are likely to spread more germs more widely. Luckily it was not very crowded and I had long stretches to myself.

After I visited Kennedy falls the first time I returned to reconnoiter the Lynn Creek Connector. See comment from 2019.07.02 of trip Discovering Kennedy Falls. A bit later I repeated that trip in reverse to see how easy it is to find the trail at the creek, then returned all the way along the Cedar Tree Trail. Thats what I wanted to do this time also. It was a cool morning and after a while my ears were getting cold. I wished I had brought my wool hat instead of the ball cap. A little past km3 I saw a few patches of snow in open shade.
