We parked in the main lot about 100m from the bottom of the chair, and started off at around 10 under partly sunny skies. We went around the bottom of the new chairlift and headed up the NE side of the ski run that comes from the old blue chair. Asia was having problems with pressure points in her boots again, so after a few hundred metres we stopped and removed some padding from her boots that she thought would help. After about 800m on the ski run we ducked into the forest on the right just as the run levelled out a bit. The trees weren't too thick and we just went along keeping the creek valley to our right. Soon we came to the first lake which is visible on Google Earth. [photo]Img_2369.jpg[caption]Looking NE at the first lake[/photo]
It was very scenic and quiet. We stuck to the shore of the lake a bit longer than we should have and ended up doubling back a bit. More skiing up towards the 2nd meadows, the trees were pretty open and it wasn't too much trouble figuring out which way to go. The snow was powdery with about 15-20cm of ski penetration.
