Ranges: North America Ranges / Columbia Mountains / Purcell Mountains / Dogtooth Range
  (1 days)     Elevation Gain: 875m
Difficulty: 2:
A scramble up Zombie Peak to ~35m below the true summit from Gorman Lake.
Hike to Gorman Lake (51.348268, -117.191910) from the Gorman Lake trailhead (51.343929, -117.153128) where you will gain ~300m of elevation over ~3km. The trail is well-maintained, frequently used, and therefore easy to follow. A steady pace should get you to the lake in approximately one hour. Campsites are available on the northeast side of the lake.

Continue hiking along the south side of Gorman Lake, follow the inlet (51.345919, -117.201993) for a short distance, and start making your way northwest up a vegetated slope (51.344973, -117.207549) to the southwest side of Zombie Peak. Hike northeast up the boulder field to gain the ridge of Zombie Peak. Scramble up large boulders while following the ridge for approximately 500m. From here (51.352650,-117.209410) you will be ~35m below the true summit. Access to the true summit is obstructed by a large cliff. Follow the same route to return. Glissading down small patches of snow made for a fun and marginally quicker descent.
