1982 was a great year for ski touring. Lots of snow in the winter, then many perfect spring weekends. After the Pemberton Icecap traverse,
where we saw all the major peaks of this area in the distance I was able to cross several off my most wanted list, including Ipsoot. I left town early and was able to drive the plowed road all the way to the creek crossing. I started skiing at 8am. The crux was more difficult than I remembered. Obviously following a set track had been easier too. Above that skinning up became much easier and I soon changed to shorts.

The glacier was a bit more complex than it looked on the map with huge wind cirques along the edge. I reached the summit in 4 1/4 hours, just in time for lunch. Under a cloudless sky I took photos all around and enjoyed a long break.
