Slalok Mountain Ski Route via northeast ridge

A spectacular ski route that has been repeated numerous times. The ascent is via the Matier glacier, and the descent is directly down the Stonecrop glacier.
The route of this trip is roughly shown by a red line in a separate photo. See Slalok Mountain Ski Route Photo - Northeast ridge. You can follow the route either on the red line on the photo or with the track log in this report.

From Upper Joffre Lake, climb south up onto the lower Matier Glacier. Then cut west across the glacier to the ridge that separates the Matier Glacier from the Stonecrop Glacier. (The northeast ridge of Slalok). Then follow this northeast ridge south and then west to the final peak. The final stretch you are above the Stonecrop glacier.

If you tried to predict possible routes looking only at the map, you might think you could climb Slalok by first going all the way to the Spetch-Slalok col and then up the Slalok East ridge. But apparently that route has cliffs. The only easy route is up the curved Northeast ridge, which divides the Stonecrop and Matier...
