A day trip up Mt Garibaldi's NE face via Brohm Ridge
We drove up the Cheekye FSR as high as we could, stopping at about 1200m where snow started. We went to bed early in the back of the truck. [photo]20100608p1.JPG[caption]early morning light on Brohm Ridge[/photo]

Up at 4am moving sometime before 5. We were greeted by the sun as it rose over cloud-filled valleys. Travel was uneventful, de-skiing only to walk over the summit of Brohm ridge. As we rounded the glacier to begin up the final slopes, the peak was encased in fog blocking any view of the bergschrund. We stopped as we grew uneasy climbing blind, and waited 15mins to see what would happen. [photo]20100608p2.JPG[caption]whiteout somewhere below summit[/photo]

Patience paid off as the peak soon cleared revealing us 10m below the bergschrund and to our amazement it was well filled in. Hoorah! [photo]20100608p3.JPG[caption]crossng the 'schrund'[/photo]

[photo]20100608p4.JPG[caption]the bergschrund, barely showing[/photo]

We kicked steps up the last slope topping out about 11:30, enjoyed the view, and then enjoyed the run down. [photo]20100608p5.JPG[caption]turns from the summit in June[/photo]

The trek back seemed it would never end... by 4pm after much trudging the truck was in sight. A great day trip, and the weather...
