Just a few days before heading on this trip I had been living in the North Alps of Japan for 3 years. Skiing and hiking my time away.
*Access* I picked up the key for the gate on Chilliwack River Road South at the Fish Hatchery Saturday morning of the BC Day long weekend. There is no bridge across the Chilliwack River at Center Creek. It has been removed. I had tried to pick up the key on Friday afternoon but after an interrogation of about 20 minutes I was deemed responsible looking and was told that if I was really serious I could come back the next morning and they would have a key waiting. I think if I had really pressured the guy or had been coming from further out than downtown Vedder I could have gotten the key the night before I was leaving. With a highcenter center 4X4 you might be able to get around the gate on an ATV track through the forest on the South Side of the gate. *Access
Saturday morning I was up at the turnoff for the Center Creek Road turnoff and unlocking the gate I saw the bypass road and took a little gander at it. My Dad's CRV certainly wasn't going to get around this gate. A rough looking trail. Back in the truck I carried on my way and as I crossed over a bridge (across Center Creek). I looked up a valley and saw the East side of Mount Rexford. This must be Center Creek then. I turned on the next road which was right after the bridge (Center Creek road).
