Timestamp Free: 2019.03.18 - 09:38:05
Ranges: North America Ranges / Pacific Cordillera Range / Coast Mountains / Pacific Ranges / Sky Pilot Group
Participants: n/a Tricky creek crossing (possibly thigh deep) with deep canyon immediately downstream; flagged route through steep forest.
Description of an eastern approach route to the Sky Pilot Group.
Trail location shown based on second hand information from people who have actually found and followed the trail. Leaves from the old but soon to be reopened upper Stawamus R. logging road, marked with flagging. A flagged trail leads from Stawamus-Indian road down to the river There is no bridge across the Stawamus, you will need to wade thigh deep water to get across. Bring poles to help with your footing, there is a nasty canyon downstream you wouldn't want to get swept into. Given the recent washout reported on Shannon Creek road, this access route apparently now offers the fastest way up to Sky Pilot, given how close you can...
