Young''s Peak - Northwest face

From the Illecillewaet campground follow the Asulkan valley trail to its end at the Asulkan hut. From the hut climb up easy slopes south of the Icthyosaurus (large rocky tower rising above and to the east of the hut). The descent of these slopes on skiis is known as the 'Seven Steps of Paradise'. Anyway, continue up this series of slopes to the base of the face. Once on the glacier proper use caution as this area is quite crevassed. The face itself is about 100-125m in length and at most is about 40 degrees. The view from the top offers spectacular views of the Illecillewaet neve and the large peaks of the Dawson range to the south. From the Asulkan hut this climb can easily be done up and down before...
