A route description for the north west ridge of Mount Afton
Follow the Abbott ridge trail to its end. Continue along the crest to a low point below Mount Abbott. From here head westward down to a small tarn in the Abbott-Afton bowl. From the lake scramble easily over snow and boulders below the North face to the base of the Northwest ridge. Be aware for rockfall off the North face of Afton. Follow the ridge easily to the summit on broken rock with nothing more than class 3, approx. 4.5hrs from the Illecillewaet campground.
