Tuzo - From Mount Allen

We traversed fairly easily from Mount Allen to Mount Tuzo

From the summit of Mt. Allen, one descends toward Tuzo, intersecting the standard route from the hut that passes between Perren and Allen and then contours NW at the 9800' level to the ridge connecting Allen and Tuzo. From the Allen/Tuzo col it is a relatively easy scramble to the summit of the latter (See Mount Allen as seen from Mount Tuzo).

On the descent, we down-climbed the W ridge of Tuzo fairly easily in order to access the large and gently inclined couloir of the Tuzo glacier that runs up from the bivouac valley to the Deltaform/Tuzo col (GR 535835). This provides a fast and relatively safe descent to the scree above Kaufmann Lake; the only other alternative is to retrace one's steps to Allen and down-climb the up...
