  (3 days) Steep snow
An approach of the peaks SE of Garibaldi Lk via the southern Neve
Like the approaches from Garibaldi Lake this trip is best done in 3 days and of course only in stable snow conditions. I skied from Diamond Head area along the summer route directly into Ring Cr. An alternate route is via the saddle between Columnar Pk and the Gargoyles, then down to the north and east. From near Opal cone cross the Neve towards the NNE and a shallow saddle on the ridge east of Mt Garibaldi GR031221(el.6500). From there it is easy to ski down the Pitt Gl. Below the glacier the valley ends in small cliffs and it is best to traverse east to the first avalanche chute descending from Viking Ridge. Below that the valley is completely filled with avalanche derbris for more than 1 km and threatened by cornices to the south and can be rough skiing. However near the forks of the Pitt River are save campsites GR048243(el.3500). On all my trips I observed no avalanche activity. From the camp ski 2km to the N, first through mature forest into the open valley SE of Sphinx. Ascend a lateral moraine on the eastside towards the NE and a steep, stepped ridge. The ridge merges with the glacier at about 6500'. From there ascend east to the col between Parpet and Issoscels. A steep step leads to the broad snowridge and thus to the summit.
