Objectives: I was looking for a "full size" ultralight backpack that could be used for mountaineering, winter overnight ski trips, and for long multi-day thru hikes.
Funny thing is I was looking at my Bora 65 review from 2005 and then I said 75 litre pack was big...
Weight (or lack there of) was a high priority. I looked at the Arcteryx Khazri 55 (rumour it doesn't sit well), Axios 55 (weighed more than NoZone 55 and didn't have features catering to mountaineering) and Arrakis 53 (sweet dry bag but heavier and more expensive...was I paddling or climbing?).
Previously had the Arc'teryx Bora 65 @ 6lbs which I took on a solo mountain trip to Peru/Bolivia and just barely fit my gear...although comfy belt and shoulder straps.
I also felt that a 65 litre pack was a little much and that aiming for 55 litres made more sense with a compact down sleeping bag, and ultralight 1.5 person tent or bivy. To see the full review, including experience and problems, you must login as a paid member. Use the Login Page. (message p3)
