Coquihalla Mountain - South Slopes # 9122

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2006.09.29
Vantage Point: From ridge to the south

Caption: Morning light shines over the south slopes of Coquihalla Mountain and Jim Kelly Peak (right)

PhotoDescr: These slopes make up the northernmost portion of the Jim Kelly Creek headwaters which flows into the Tulameen River. This valley at present, is a lush, green and healthy second growth forest which doesn't look to have seen logging in a few decades, a rare and pleasant sight in an unprotected area where, just to the south and east, huge sections of the forest has been reddened by beetlekill and logged relentlessly. We spent three wonderful days in this fall-coloured sub-alpine area and summited remote Carry Peak along the way.
