Upper Waterton Lake and Border Range Peaks # 9083

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2006.08.25
Vantage Point: From grounds of Prince of Wales Hotel

Caption: The MV International and a smaller craft carve the waters of Upper Waterton Lake in the gathering dusk.

PhotoDescr: Upper Waterton Lake, the largest of the three Waterton Lakes, reaches across the international border from Alberta's Waterton Lakes National Park to Montana's Glacier National Park. There is no road access to the U. S. end of the lake. Constructed in 1927, the tour boat MV International has been carrying passengers from the village of Waterton to Goat Haunt at the Glacier NP end for nearly 80 years.

The high peak on the skyline at centre is probably Mount Cleveland, with Goat Haunt Mountain just in front of it. The jagged rocks on the right skyline may be the Citadel Peaks.

On our return from a visit to Vancouver Island, my wife and I decided to visit Waterton Lakes National Park, where neither of us had been for many years.
