Shadow Lake and Mount Ball # 8672

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2006.07.08
Vantage Point: From bridge at east end of Shadow Lake

Caption: Mount Ball, on the Continental Divide, towers above Shadow Lake in Banff National Park.

PhotoDescr: Shadow Lake was one of the stops on a 31.5 km day hike for seven members of the Grant MacEwan Mountain Club. Since most of the hike is on trail through montane forest, we took a lengthy break whenever the views opened up, as they do at Shadow Lake.

Ball Pass, into Kootenay Park, is to the left of Mount Ball. Isabelle Peak, between Mount Ball and Ball Pass, is almost entirely concealed from this vantage point by an outlier of Mount Ball.
