Mount Bishop Upper Slopes from 1300m # 8632

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2006.07.03
Vantage Point: From about 1300m on trail

Caption: Route goes up snow slope. Peak is on the left of photo.

PhotoDescr: I took this photo about 9:00 in the morning, as Wolf and I headed up Mount Bishop from our camp at Vicar Lake. The peak is on the left. Our route was up to the highest snowfield just below the peak, then right on the thin gash of snow to the ridge, and then up the peak. From the lake, you do not see this obvious route, as the snow slopes are somewhat hidden. (See photos from Vicar lake). The suncups on the hard snow make for easy steps. Later in the season this is all heather.
