Castle Towers Mountain - North Face # 8542

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2006.06.07
Vantage Point: From pass at head of Helm Glacier

Caption: The glaciated north face of Castle Towers Mountain takes up the left half of the picture. There are several challenging ice/snow routes on this face. The triangular-shaped ridge on the upper right half of the picture is the standard summit route. It involves getting through a boulder field to gain the west tower, from where the central tower is an exposed but easy scramble. At the lower right side of the picture is Polemonium Ridge.

PhotoDescr: This picture was taken during the fifth and final day of an east-west ski traverse of Garibaldi Park, from the Lillooet River to Rubble Creek. Most of the traverse was along the McBride Range. We were heading down the Helm Glacier toward Taylor Meadows to catch the Garibaldi Lake trail.
