Date: 1994.07.24
Vantage Point: From boat to the W

Caption: Mount Cleveland which is a perfectly formed stratovolcano that forms the west end of Chuginadak Island.

PhotoDescr: Cleveland has been the site of numerous eruptions in the last two centuries with the most recent occurring in 1994 and in 1944 a U.S. Army serviceman was reportedly killed by an eruption from Mount Cleveland.

Although there were many newer pics from the AVO of Cleveland this one (1994) showed the profile of the mountain the best and was the only one viewed from the Ocean.
