A Glimpse of Crown Mountain # 8328

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2006.04.24
Vantage Point: From

Caption: Crown Mt from the Lynn Valley

PhotoDescr: At left are the steep bluffs at the north end of Goat ridge. The pinnacle to the right of the true summit is the Camel.

As you approach the Lynn Lake and Hanes Valley Junction in upper Lynn Valley, Crown Mt begins to shimmer through the tree branches, but I found only one window where it is visible clearly, just before you cross a deep narrow gully. I continued up towards Lynn Lake but got no more unobstructed views. Once the trail reaches the creek and the confluence of Coliseum Creek, Crown is hidden by an intervening ridge. This was also where snowpatches became deep at an elevation of barely 600 m.
