Bow Glacier Falls from Bow Lake # 7831

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.08.01
Vantage Point: From Bow Lake Shoreline Trail

Caption: On a warm summer day, glacier melt surges over Bow Glacier Falls, and can be seen from nearly five kilometers away.

PhotoDescr: On the third day of the 2005 August long weekend, I led a club group on the relatively short and gentle hike back to the 120 m Bow Glacier Falls.

The trail is a very popular half-day hike from Num-Ti-Jah Lodge. The first part of the route is the same as the access to Bow Hut, the Alpine Club of Canada Hut that is a base for climbing and ski-mountaineering in the Wapta Icefield.

For those who don't want to get too far from civilization, the falls are visible from the lakeshore near the lodge.
