Mount Nebo from South # 7747

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.11.16
Vantage Point: From Hiway 28 south of Levan

Caption: Mount Nebo from 35km away

PhotoDescr: Mount Nebo 11928' is the highest peak in the Wasatch Range but stands fairly isolated and is a small range by itself. From the south the ridge is seen head on and the highest peak is probably hidden behind the slightly lower South peak (11877') in the foreground. Incidentally this is the elevation given on my road map and as I found out later the destination of the summit trail.

I was returning from Arizona and on long drives always look for high peaks to climb as side trips. I had discovered the peak on my road map and its proximity to the highway made me hope it would be feasible as a day trip.
