Mount Baker from East # 7681

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.06.20
Vantage Point: From Wapta Icefields

Caption: The East side of Mount Baker in June conditions after a storm cycle

PhotoDescr: We took this photo while up on the Wapta Icefields in June 2005. While Calgary was flooding (this was the weekend it rained the most and the Bow messed up Princes Island Park), we were enjoying sunny conditions, getting nice turns, and bagging peaks. We didn't even know about the rain until reaching a detour on Highway 1 on the way home.

According to the Climbers Guide to the Rocky Mountains of Canada, Baker was first ascended in 1923 by Wilcox and Aemmer via the NE ridge and has since been climbed by the S ridge, W face, and NW ridge.

Once again, Graeme Pole has provided excellent descriptions on the Mount Baker page describing how to ascend this peak via various routes.
