Serratus from Jim Haberl Hut # 7502

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.09.27
Vantage Point: Taken close to the new hut.

Caption: Serratus from the West

PhotoDescr: This was taken during a work party on the Jim Haberl Hut in late September, 2005. The hut is looking good!

The snow patches on the right hand side of the photograph are roughly the line of the West face ascent described in Alpine Select.

Reported to me by a few friends having done this route, mid Aug '06, the snow bridges in the descent couloir (not visible in the picture) are ugly and large, and they had to downclimb the west face to get back to the Red Tit. I suspect this might be a typical description of late summer climbs of Serratus, and of my own attempt at Dione at the same time of year.
