Duffey Lake Contrasts: Ice and Meadows # 7260

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.08.22
Vantage Point: From ridge above Hurley Silver Mine Road

Caption: Looking across the Cayoosh River Valley to the familiar faces of the Joffre Group.

PhotoDescr: After climbing plans for the day evaporated with a broken bridge, Steve and I drove up the Hurley Silver Mine Road; truthfully I did not even know this road existed until I read about it in Matt Gunn's new Scrambles book. Pretty quick access (~15 mins to ridgeline) but the area is obviously an ATV and snowmobile hangout.

The purpose of this photo is also to indicate the present conditions of the Joffre Group ice routes -- quite nice I'd say.
