Mount Ling - West Face # 7209

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.08.22
Vantage Point: From the summit area of Conway Peak

Caption: Steep southwest face of Mount Ling. Ling Lake is the large sub-alpine lake below. Mount Grant is right of, and behind Ling, with Tulameen Mountain in the extreme distance left of Grant.

PhotoDescr: I climbed Mount Ling a couple of years ago. A co-worker at the time had told me of a beautiful lake at the head of Foley Creek that he had fished with his father. He reported an epic bushwhack, and the nicest lake he had ever seen. Well the bush was not bad at all (a flagged route/trail from Foley Creek FSR), and the lake was. . . well. . . nice. I hiked up the right skyline (more or less) to the western summit (right summit in picture), where I found a cairn.

This picture was taken on a day trip up Conway Peak. An easy day with good views.
