Inverness Mountain - West Face # 7204

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.07.29
Vantage Point: From alpine basin at the head of Marten Creek

Caption: The west face of Inverness Mountain is quite gentle-looking. The spires to the left (the second one is just out of picture at extreme left) actually radiate from the south ridge of Marten Mountain, and resemble the Nesakwatch Spires from certain angles. If the rock quality on these spires is similar to what we encountered on the west ridge of Marten Mountain, then the resemblance ends there!

PhotoDescr: Two-day trip into the southern outlier of the Goat Range (West Kootenays). Our tent site is not far from where this picture was taken, and provided great views in every direction. Apparently Inverness Mountain is mislabeled on 82K/3. Sandra has some good info in her recent Confessions of a Peak-Bagger: Climbing Inverness Mountain with the KMC.
