Vantage Point: From Northover Ridge Trail

Caption: Across the Palliser River Valley from the Continental Divide, the Royal Group forms a huge block of glaciated peaks.

PhotoDescr: King George is the highest peak in the Royal Group. The near peak interrupting the view is Onslow Mountain. The distant one on the right is Prince Henry. One of the Northover Lakes is in the foreground.

This photo was taken during a day hike of the 34-km Northover Ridge Trail/Route/Traverse by a group from the Grant MacEwan Mountain Club. By this point in the midafternoon, the blue skies of the earlier hours had been replaced by high partial overcast.
