Mount Northover, British Columbia Side # 7172

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.08.13
Vantage Point: From Northover Ridge Trail

Caption: The Northover Ridge Trail crosses the scree slopes of Mount Northover on the British Columbia Side, climbing to the col on the centre skyline.

PhotoDescr: The scramble route up Mount Northover goes up the south ridge (right skyline). It features "difficult scrambling with severe exposure," according to Alan Kane's Scrambles in the Canadian Rockies.

For my group from the Grant MacEwan Mountain Club, the Northover Ridge route, which bypasses the mountain itself, was enough of a challenge, with sufficient exposure to focus our attention.

The tarn at left is one of the two Northover Lakes. This area is part of BC's Height of the Rockies Provincial Park.
