North Face of Mount Wood # 7169

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.07.24
Vantage Point: From unnamed peak on the N side of Hazard glacier

Caption: the N face of Mt. Wood (4850 m) (summit visible above clouds) rising steeply above the Hazard glacier (~1900 m)

PhotoDescr: Mt. Wood is the seventh highest mountain in Canada, quite isolated from other major peaks, and near the Alaskan border.

I was in the area for Trapridge Glacier glaciology field work. We hiked from Trapridge glacier, crossing the Hazard glacier, up to unnamed minor peaks on the N side of the glacier.

This view has probably only been seen by our party, unless Walter Wood made it to this side of the Hazard Glacier.
