Mount Temple from Panorama Ridge # 7096

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.07.30
Vantage Point: From scramble route on Panorama Ridge

Caption: The famed classic [a href=TripPg.asp?TripId=5033 target=blank]East Ridge route[/a] on Mount Temple goes up this face.

PhotoDescr: On the first day of the August Long Weekend 2005 (the first two days of which fell in July), I led a group of inexperienced scramblers up Panorama Ridge. The foreground pinnacle marked the end of one of the cliff bands on the idiosyncratic route we followed as an alternative to heading straight up the steepening avalanche path to the ridge. Beyond this was a vast field of large and occasionally tippy boulders.

The ridge lies between the Bow Valley and Consolation Valley, giving excellent views of both from the ridgeline in good weather. And we did have good weather: warm and mostly sunny all weekend. As we descended the ridge, we had a few minutes of thin overcast as seen here.
