Frost Fiend, Sampson and Sessel from Dickson # 7027

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.07.19
Vantage Point: From Dickson Peak

Caption: Looking south across Downton Lake from Dickson Peak to the headwaters of Jamie Creek. Frost Fiend is the dark tusk in centre, Sampson left, Sessel right. Thiassi and Vayu out of photo to the right.

PhotoDescr: The Frost Fiend is a very elusive peak, and is tough to pick unless you are higher than it. It is an impressive tower from the north but is not that high relatively and often blends into the surrounding mountains, especially when seen from the south. It is actually the southernmost of three 2600m peaks, and is actually -- according to BC Basemap -- 5m shorter than its next companion to the north. Ascents seem to be rare.

The bridge over the Hurley to access Sampson is still out, if anyone wants to know. Bring bikes.
