Hawk Mountain # 6980

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.07.16
Vantage Point: From lower northwest slopes of Hawk

Caption: The scrambling route to Hawk's summit (right skyline) is on this side of the mountain.

PhotoDescr: This picture was taken when I returned from bailing at the crux on Hawk Mountain during one of the passing moments of better weather. See the trip report for more details.

The route passes along the base of the face about two-thirds of the way up the left edge of the photo, eventually moving through and above that cliff band to a set of narrow exposed ledges on the next band (next to a chimney that is an alternative route) and up scree slopes above the ledges to the summit ridge, which is followed to the summit.
