Rapid and Pocket Peaks from Labour Day # 6956

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.07.17
Vantage Point: From Labour Day Peak

Caption: Pocket in right foreground, Rapid at left. Luna behind Rapid, Challenger between Rapid and Pocket in background

PhotoDescr: These two peaks can be accessed from the WA side by using the Twin Lakes trailhead and crossing Skagway Pass, then dropping down to cross Silesia Creek and making the long ascent through forest.

From BC, either following the divide south from Labour Day, or trying a direct approach from the end of Nesakwatch Creek road might work. Beware of bush.

That unclimbed NE arete of Rapid, dropping left down into Nesakwatch Creek Valley, sure looks good but is rather difficult to get to. The rock is solid granite. The arete and rounded shape of the summit looks a bit to me like an elephant's trunk and head in this light. Likewise it seems the north face of Pocket is steep solid granite.
