Peaks at the Head of Holly Lake # 6786

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2005.06.5
Vantage Point: From eastern shore of Holly Lake

Caption: Looking up from Holly Lake to the "musical" peaks at the head of the northwest fork of Downton Creek.

PhotoDescr: The shores of this lake - and Lorna Lake to the north - are surrounded by beautiful meadows and open forests; it would be a lovely ski touring area were it not for the snowed-in Downton FSR in winter.

Contralto Peak and Mount Schroeder are mentioned in the 1990 CAJ. Neither appear very difficult from any angle but the area is well-suited to a lazy weekend of peakbagging and scrambling.
