Mount Assiniboine from Lake Magog # 6322

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2004.08.26
Vantage Point: From Lake Magog

Caption: The North Ridge route faces the camera. The R.C. Hind Hut sits just outside of the photo to the right.

PhotoDescr: The walk into Lake Magog is very long and pretty boring. Lots of groups fly into the Assiniboine Lodge where you can book a package that includes lodging and meals at a budget breaking price. Considering that we were on a tight budget we chose the walk-in option. It rained on us almost the whole way to the lodge and when we finally arrived we tried not to be too jealous as we watched fifty or so Sierra Club members wining and dining at the lodge. If you can't afford this kind of luxury, you can try staying in the cabins like we did. You can even dry your gear out with their wood burning stoves. I believe that the cabins and the Assiniboine Lodge are a national heritage site, being built by CN in the early 1900's.
