Vertigo on Mount Rundle # 6228

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2003.07.18
Vantage Point: From the summit of Rundle

Caption: The view looking straight down off of the NE face of Mount Rundle. Bow River and Hwy #1 below.

PhotoDescr: Also known to some locals as the Bow River high dive platform, Rundle offers an exhilarating 5000+ feet of exposure when looking down from the summit. The standard route on the southwest side starts as a pleasant hike along good trail with great views of the Spray River valley and Sulphur Mountain. Once above the tree line, Rundle becomes a giant steep and loose ramp with one narrow rock rib to cross. Easily climbed in a half day up this standard route, this is a worthwhile experience if you are in the Banff area. I know this looks a little stupid, but I had someone I completely trust holding on to me.
