Mount Assiniboine South Ridge and East Face # 6137

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2004.10.29
Vantage Point: From Westjet Flight 226

Caption: On an early morning flight back to Calgary from Vancouver I was treated to a great view of Assiniboine. The view as we went over the Bugs was equally fantastic.

PhotoDescr: The SW face of Assiniboine (II) is just around the left of the prominent ridge running towards the bottom left of the frame. The E (IV 5.7) buttress is shown on the photo with the E face to the right of it (V 5.9 A2). Regardless of the routes, this peak really does leap out at you and even if you're having trouble identifying anything else from the plane you'll never miss this one.

The Magog/Assiniboine col can be seen to the right of the photo. At the base of the S ridge is the Lunette/Assiniboine col.
