Vantage Point: From Paget Peak

Caption: Mount Niles is the prominent peak on the right skyline; on the left skyline is the ridge that continues from Mount Ogden to Takakkaw Falls on the east side of the Yoho Valley. The Waputik Icefield can be glimpsed to the right of Mount Niles. The north end of Sherbrooke Lake is at the lower left.

PhotoDescr: On the first day of a three-day Grant MacEwan Mountain Club excursion based out of the Canadian Alpine Centre (Lake Louise Hostel) in Lake Louise, I led seven other club members to the readily accessible summit of Paget Peak. For some it was their first scramble.

The most interesting views are northwest, toward Mount Niles and the Waputik Icefield.
