Welch and Foley # 5987

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2004.11.11
Vantage Point: From the summit of Williams Peak

Caption: Welch Peak on the left and Foley Peak on the right, with Mount Judge Howay on the right horizon. The long and pleasant South Ridge of Welch (Class 3/4) displayed on left skyline. The stiff portion of the East Ridge (loose, 4th) is on the right skyline above the prominent gendarme. Southwest ridge of Foley (Walter/Zenger 5.6) can be made out (to some degree) on the left skyline, with the Southeast ridge (class 3/4) dead center.

PhotoDescr: Don Funk and I climbed the standard route (West Ridge, Class 3) of Williams Peak on a fantastic November day. Some deep post holes slowed us down a bit, but the great views were well worth the effort.
