Lake Annette in Paradise Valley # 5977

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2004.08.01
Vantage Point: From Paradise Valley Trail

Caption: Lake Annette huddles up against the base of Mount Temple.

PhotoDescr: Lake Annette is a fairly substantial lake, about 4.6 hectares in area and with more than 825 metres of shoreline, located beneath Mount Temple's north face. A yellow-flowered, shrubby cinquefoil can be seen on the right side of the photo.

I led a group of eight Grant MacEwan Mountain Club members on a circumnavigation of Mount Temple, from Moraine Lake, through Larch Valley, over Sentinel Pass, down to Paradise Valley, to Lake Annette, and back to the Moraine Lake Road, as the second of a series of three day hikes on the August Long Weekend. We stopped at Lake Annette to allow Margaret, a naturalist from Maine who joined our group because of the six-member minimum group size that Parks Canada has mandated for bear control, to take a swim. None of our group joined her in the chilly waters.
