Snowpatch Spire - North Face # 595

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 1999.09.24
Vantage Point: From Crescent Glacier

Caption: The photo shows the north aspect of Snowpatch Spire. A climber ascends the Crescent Glacier at the base of the spire.

PhotoDescr: Snowpatch Spire is the most difficult climb in Bugaboo Provincial Park. The easiest line, the "Southeast Corner" goes at 5.6+ [Green and Bensen, 1990]. The North side is another "affaire", altogether. I realized why they call their mountains "spires" in the area when I saw this face for the first time. Even Conrad "The Great" did not make it to the top of this one.
