Fun in the Forest on Descent from Mount Barr # 5885

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2004.10.24
Vantage Point: In forest on lower north ridge of Barr East

Caption: Steve Harng engages in unorthodox tree climbing maneuvers while Fred Touche gazes on.

PhotoDescr: Fred, Steve and I made an attempt on Mt Barr via Hunter Creek road. After surviving the bottomless puddle, and hiking up the snow covered logging road, we bushwhacked up to the NW spur of the north ridge of Barr East and started along it. The snow depth rapidly increased to over one meter, and having neither snowshoes or skis (we had expected less than 1 foot of snow) we decided to turn around.

In the forest on the way down, Steve was determined to climb something even if it wasn't a mountain. He found a nice jam crack in between two trees and got right down to business. However he got his foot stuck on this difficult maneuver and needed Fred's assistance to get unstuck.
