Skihist Mountain: Towers of Choss # 5472

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2004.08.16
Vantage Point: From gendarme on the east ridge of Skihist

Caption: Doesn't that rock look inviting? We skirted the blocky gendarme (beneath the snowpatch below the left true summit) on the high left side before reaching the summit.

PhotoDescr: Don Funk and I climbed Skihist Mountain on a weekend full of mixed weather. Our plans to complete the trip in two days were defeated by a raging, multi-forest-fire-starting storm. This thunder, lightning, and eventual precipitation kept us tent bound until late morning. We were just glad that our drainage (North Kwoiek Creek) was one of the few spared by fires.
