Cirque Peak - North Ridge # 5170

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2004.05.16
Vantage Point: Col north of Cirque Peak

Caption: Cirque Peak from north col with some fine looking and exciting exposure. According to Culbert, the ridge is 3rd class. However, there is no mention of first ascent party.

PhotoDescr: We left Vancouver around noon on Saturday and dilly-dallied our way to the trail head. For some reason, I thought the approach will be easy and no bush. Not like the last trip with Jordan, see Alder Thrash on Mount Ling (It turned out to be worse!). I should have known better. I was stupid enough to wear shorts and a t-shirt for the approach and suffered countless cuts and scratches. Fortunately the approach was just two short agonizing hours.

On Sunday, Jordan dragged my sorry ass up this cool mountain. I was feeling really out of breath, not sure why, and let Jordan kick step for me pretty much all the way to the col. We were about 700 metres away from the summit, but due to deteriorating snow conditions and time constraint, we turned around and headed back down.
