Lake Louise without Mount Victoria # 4535

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 2003.09.17
Vantage Point: From near Chateau Lake Louise

Caption: A lighted patch beneath the cloud at the end of Lake Louise gives the false impression of a horizon.

PhotoDescr: This photograph answers the question, what would Lake Louise look like without the Plain of the Six Glaciers and Mount Victoria cluttering up the view? Fairview Mountain, shrouded in clouds on the left, and the foot of Mount Whyte on the right, are the most impressive peaks on view when Victoria, Lefroy, Aberdeen, and Haddo are out of sight.

A September snowfall and low clouds gave Lake Louise this different look when I stopped by on my way to better hiking opportunities among the Coast Mountains.
