Sky Pilot - On the West Ridge # 411

Below is a description of the photograph you were looking for, and the circumstances surrounding the photo.
Date: 1997.07
Vantage Point: From the West Ridge

Caption: The gendarme and the true summit of Sky Pilot Mountain.

PhotoDescr: After gaining the base of the West Ridge, tricky class 3 rock leads to easier 3rd class rock. After an enjoyable routefinding scramble, a rounded bump is reached. This is the vantage point of this photo. Head towards the gendarme and skirt it on the right. First, bushy class 3 is encountered. Then, a very exposed 40 m of stiff class 3 is encountered while trying to gain a gully between the true summit and the gendarme. Ascend this gully, turn right and scramble easily to the summit.
